Dr. Ayinala began his medical training in Tirupathi, AP, India at S.V. Medical College. After completing a rotating internship at S.V.R.R. Hospital in India, he completed his residency in internal medicine at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center at the State University of New York in Brooklyn, where he served as chief resident from 1998 to 1999. He completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.

Dr. Ayinala is trained in advanced endoscopic techniques such as ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound, and has a special interest in treating gastrointestinal cancers. A member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American College of Physicians, he has been in practice since 2003. In 2016, he was recognized as a "Top Doctor" from the Leading Physicians of the World.

He joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2005.
