Areas of Interest

Dr. Talapaneni is a graduate of N.T.R. University of Health Sciences, Kurnool (India) Medical College, where she received degrees in medicine and surgery. During medical school, she received the award for the best medical student in school health and was named the best student in her graduating class.

Prior to completing her residency in internal medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, she served as a research assistant in the Division of Gastroenterology at the Montefiore Medical Center at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Kansas Medical Center Program in Kansas City.

Dr. Talapaneni is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterological Association and has had several abstracts published. She has a special interest in inflammatory bowel and biliary diseases, as well as management of women's gastrointestinal issues. Dr. Talapaneni joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2007.
