Areas of Interest

Dr. Trankina is a graduate of the University of Georgia in Athens where he received a bachelor’s degree in microbiology. He received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, and completed both his internship and residency at Emory University affiliated hospitals. After serving as senior associate attending in the emergency room at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, he completed fellowships in gastroenterology and therapeutic endoscopy at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Dr. Trankina has been in private practice in the Atlanta area since 1993. He is a member of several professional organizations including the American Medical Association, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

In addition to general gastroenterology, Dr. Trankina has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of IBS and GERD. He joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2012.
