A native of Pakistan, Dr. Khalid received her medical degree from Hamdard University in Karachi. Before moving to the U.S., she completed internships at Children’s Hospital in Multan and Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi, and served as a lecturer at Multan Medical and Dental College. Dr. Khalid completed both a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa. She previously served as an observer at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and as a research associate in gastroenterology at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

Dr. Khalid has been published in peer-reviewed journals including Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Surgical Endoscopy, World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology, and Gastroenterology. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).

In addition to general gastroenterology, Dr. Khalid has a special interest in hepatology, colon cancer screening, and treating celiac disease and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). She joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2022.
