R. Carter Davis, MD

After completing his undergraduate degree at Emory University, Dr. Davis received his medical degree from the Emory University School of Medicine. Following his internship, residency and fellowship in medicine at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, he became a medical instructor at Albert Einstein Medical College in New York City. After completing post-graduate work in gastrointestinal endoscopy at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, he established a private practice in gastroenterology in 1972. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and the International Academy of Proctology.
Active in many professional associations, Dr. Davis is a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Society for Addiction Medicine, American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians. He previously served as chairman of the Technical Advisory Committee of the Georgia State Health Planning Agency and served on the Georgia Health Strategies Council for three years. Dr. Davis is a specialist in liver diseases and all aspects of gastrointestinal disorders. He has been selected by his peers as the "Best Doctor in Gastroenterology and Liver Disease" in the Southeast twice and been named as one of Atlanta's "top doctors" by Atlanta Magazine five times.
Dr. Davis founded Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 1976 and continues to serve as a consultant for the practice.
