Dr. Kajani received his medical degree from one of the oldest medical schools in the world – Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India. After completing an internship at Osmania University Hospital, he moved to the United States and worked as a house physician at both Baptist Medical Center of New York in Brooklyn and Hillcrest General Hospital in Flushing, New York. Following his internship and residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, he completed a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Kajani was in private practice in Newnan, Georgia, for nearly 25 years. During that time he served as a member of the Board of Trustees for Emory Peachtree Hospital and the Peer Review Committee at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Most recently, he was in private practice in Conyers, Georgia.

In addition to treating all types of gastrointestinal disorders, Dr. Kajani is particularly interested in diseases affecting the colon including screening for colon cancer. He was the principal investigator on 25 clinical research studies and has been published in many peer-reviewed journals, including Digestive Disease and Sciences, Gastroenterology and Endoscopy News, and Journal of Investigative Surgery. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. Kajani joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2015.
