A native of South Korea, Dr. Jae Wook Dong earned his medical degree from Hanyang University in Seoul. After coming to the United States, he served as a research assistant in the gastroenterology lab at Northwestern University. He then completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Illinois at Peoria. After holding various academic and professional appointments with the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, he completed his fellowship in gastroenterology.

In addition to general gastroenterology, Dr. Dong has a special interest in colorectal cancer screening, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and inflammatory bowel disease. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Medical Association, and the Korean Medical Association.

Dr. Dong is fluent in Korean and joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2018.
