Dimple Raina, MD

Dr. Raina was born and raised in Kashmir, an Indian valley nestled in the Himalayan Mountains. She received a combined bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery from the Government Jammu Medical College in Jammu and Kashmir, India. After graduating in the top 10 percent of her class, she spent the next three years serving as a physician and surgeon at local area hospitals.

After moving to the United States, she completed her internship and residency at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Most recently, Dr. Raina served the Johns Creek community for several years as a gastroenterologist with Advanced Gastroenterology Associates, LLC.

Dr. Raina's special interests include inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), reflux disease, colon cancer prevention, swallowing disorders, small bowel disease, and liver disease. She has expertise in procedures such as endoscopic therapeutics, small bowel pill cam, colonoscopy and esophageal manometry.

She has presented at numerous national meetings and has been published in the American Journal of Kidney Diseases and the Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology. In addition, Dr. Raina is active in many community and non-profit organizations and is the founder of The Lady Doctors’ Club.

Dr. Raina’s father gave her some key advice: “Contentment comes from loving what we do.” That is why she decided to become a doctor. She strives to ensure that every interaction with a patient is an effective and memorable one.

In 2016, Dr. Raina and the staff of Advanced Gastroenterology Associates joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates. She is fluent in Kashmiri, Hindi, and Urdu.
