A native of Arkansas, Dr. Holly is a graduate of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and the University of Arkansas College of Medicine in Little Rock, where he received the Syntax Research Scholarship. Following his internship and residency at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals, Dr. Holly worked as a general internist at Kaiser Permanente in Atlanta and subsequently completed his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at St. Louis University Health Sciences Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Holly was in private practice in Jackson, Tennessee for four years before joining Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2000. He presently serves as clinical assistant professor of medicine at Emory University school of Medicine.

Dr. Holly is a member of the American Gastroenterologic Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the Leonidas Berry Society on Digestive Diseases, the National Medical Association, the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, and the American College of Physicians.
