After more than three months of evaluation, AGA’s Center for GI Imaging has been accredited as a computed tomography (CT) facility by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The ACR is considered the gold standard for accreditation in the radiology community because of its rigorous evaluation process and is one of only three government-approved organizations to evaluate and certify imaging facilities under the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) of 2008.
During the process, the ACR verified qualifications of AGA’s physicians and medical personnel, reviewed radiation dose assessments and scrutinized both clinical and phantom image quality. Additionally, quality assurance procedures and safety standards for both staff and patients were examined.
This endorsement not only sets the Center for GI Imaging apart from other outpatient imaging facilities, but further demonstrates AGA’s commitment to provide the highest level of image quality and safety to our patients.
