Physician Assistant, Gwinnett Office
Responsible for providing medical assistance to patients in hospital and in office and receives training and direction from practice physicians.
Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to
- Daily hospital presence
- Completing inpatient hospital consults and routing consults to practice physicians
- Accurately providing and counseling patients with information for medical treatment or procedures
- Dictating for hospital consults performed
- Answering emails and voicemails and returning patient calls in a timely and efficient manner
- Abiding by and promoting HIPAA compliance; maintaining strictest confidentiality with regards to patient information
- Performing any other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Supervision Received
Reports to practice physicians and practice administrator
Required Skills and Experience
Up to three years experience as a physician assistant, GI experience preferred. New graduates welcome to apply. Must be computer literate and able to operate Practice Management software and multiple Microsoft Office applications.

Physician Office Manager
Responsible for the organization and supervision of all administrative and clinical office activities for a physician practice with multiple locations. Manages daily office operations and delegates work assignments to staff and clinical leads. Coordinates and oversees daily office schedules, patient flow and customer service for the entire physician office.

RESPONSIBILIITES
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Manages the day-to-day operations of physician office; identifies, analyzes, and resolves daily workflow issues
- Manages the recruiting, hiring, development, and evaluation of all clinical and non-clinical staff
- Ensures office is appropriately staffed during all clinical and non clinical hours; manages staff overtime to the need of the office
- Manages physician schedules for multiple locations and visit types
- Ensures all applicable procedures are scheduled in AGA endoscopy suites
- Ensures requests for information and record releases are handled promptly and effectively to guarantee payment on patient accounts
- Abides by and promotes HIPAA compliance; maintains strictest confidentiality with regards to patient information
- Conducts weekly or bi-monthly staff meetings to keep staff informed of AGA policies and procedures
- Conducts bi-weekly or monthly physician meetings to keep physicians informed of AGA policies and procedures
- Acts as a communication link between the physicians, administration, and endoscopy suites
- Ensures patients are treated courteously by office staff and that other visitors are screened and properly directed
- Acts as the formal contact person for referring physicians and patient complaints
- Oversees and approves ordering and maintenance of all office supplies and equipment
- Responsible for the acquisition of complete and accurate patient demographic and billing information
- Manages financial counseling staff to ensure fiscal security of all patient visits
- Balances patient payments daily; oversees collection of charges and fee tickets to be sent to business office
- Monitors the general office budget and coordinates all bills with the Accounts Payable Department
- Initiates and oversees marketing activities with the Practice Development Manager
- Ensures mail is opened and processed appropriately
- Any other duties and or special projects as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
2-3 years of office management experience with a concentration in healthcare policies, procedures, and systems. Manager must be proficient with scheduling, check-in, and medical records management as well as office budgeting and inventory control. Manager must also be computer literate and able to operate multiple Microsoft Office applications.

EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED. Bachelors degree preferred
